There is nothing quite like the taste of fresh basil pesto. It seems everyone loves the flavour it adds to soups, vegetables, chicken or fish. If you have a family member that doesn't like vegetables, try steaming broccoli or carrots and then topping it with pesto. You will convert them into a veggie lover for sure!
2 cups fresh basil
1/2 cup pine nuts or hemp hearts
1/2 cup olive oil
3-4 tbsp lemon juice
3 cloves garlic
½ to 1 tsp pink rock or grey sea salt
1. Put all ingredients in a food processor.
2. Blend on high until desired paste consistency is reached.
3. Store in airtight glass jar in fridge or freezer.
