Key Lime Hemp Smoothie

If you like key lime pie, you are going to love this shake. It will provide your body with electrolyte minerals like potassium and magnesium, which help to regulate many functions in the body – from the amount of water you retain to the acidity (pH) of your blood. Electrolyte minerals also help to keep your muscles working properly, making this a great shake to enjoy before or after a workout! 

Ingredients:

1/2                 ripe avocado (about 1/3 cup)

3 cups           roughly chopped baby spinach

1/4 cup          fresh lime juice (use lemon juice if unavailable)

2 cups           unsweetened coconut beverage (Try my homemade coconut beverage recipe.)

2-3 tbsp         raw honey (to taste)

2 tbsp            hemp hearts (Click here to learn more about the power of hemp nutrition.)

Optional Superfood Booster:

1 tsp              sustainable fish oil

Directions:

1. Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.

2. Adjust sweetness to taste. Makes 2 shakes.
